Year R 2018 - 2019

Mrs Cunha

Welcome to Reception.

Welcome to our class page, here you will find all the essential information about our class.

At Lower Park our Reception class has both an indoor and outdoor learning enviroment which the children access all year round. We believe there is a lot to learn in the outdoors and use the area to enhance all areas of the EYFS curriculum. Our indoor learning environment is bright and welcoming and consists of provision to enhance the childrens's learning as well as enabling them to learn effectively through play.

Communication with Parents

We hope that you, as parents will come to see us if there is anything you would like to discuss with us. We  are always available to have a quick chat before or at the end of the school day. Longer appointments can be made if needed via the school office. Remember we are contactable via messaging on Class Dojo should you need to ask us something and we always endeavour to respond quickly to messages.  You can also check your child's online learning journey with the details you have been provided with.

Each week your child will recieve homework related to what they have been learning in class. This will consist of a phoneme cards and actions to practise at home, reading book and after October half-term a Busy Bee Book. In the Busy Bee Book you can choose each week what you wish to record with your child about their time at home or out and about.  Reading books are changed once a week and two books are provided. For more information you can check the termly newsletter (see file below).

General Reminders

PE for Reception children is on Monday. It is easier to leave PE kits in school for the half term and we will send them home for washing in the holidays.

Please send your child in with their water bottle daily, with fresh water, they will have access to this throughout the day.
