Leave of absence during term time including holidays
The 2024 school attendance regulations make clear that head teachers may not grant any leave of absence (holiday) during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. The amendments give parents no entitlement to take their child out of school for a holiday in term time. The Head teacher will only grant a leave of absence to a pupil during term time if the request meets the specific circumstances set out in the 2024 school attendance regulations.

The form should be completed and returned to school at least 2 weeks before the first day of absence. The form can be obtained from the School Office or on the school’s website below.
A written response from the Head teacher (or Deputy) will be sent advising the parent/carer of the school’s decision
